KöröspArt Gallery

The KöröspArt Gallery showcases paintings by renowned artists, as well as works by artists that deserve recognition. The paintings are available for public viewing. The gallery began its activities in Gyula after several years of collecting artwork. This beautiful town in Békés County is the place where Mihály Munkácsy and László Gyulai started their career, while István Szilágyi and György Kohán were born there.

Those who founded the gallery intentionally chose their hometown, because they surmised that a lively art scene can also exist outside Budapest. The vibrant artistic environment in Gyula, especially in the first half of the 20th century, proves their point. The aim of the gallery was to search for and present works of art by forgotten and lesser-known artists.

The paintings of such renowned masters as Vilmos Aba-Novák, Rezső Burghardt, Béla Czóbel, Ferenc Csejtei Joachim, Tibor Jankay (Deutsch), Baron Ferenc Hatvany, Mihály Erdélyi, Zoltán Klie, Pál Molnár C, Miklós Némethy, István Pekáry, Péter T. Rátz, Anna Stark, and Jenő Szervánszky were found during the collection process and are now on display at the gallery.
