Playhouse Gyula

A unique new leisure center has been helping families relax since the 2023 tourist season. The facility, located in the immediate vicinity of the Castle Garden, on the corner of Saint Nicholas Park, offers hours of unforgettable entertainment to toddlers and teenagers alike, using the latest technical solutions.

The renovated building, which used to be the former deputy governor’s residence, now features areas for different age groups. The baby-mama room is a safe place for the youngest ones, preschoolers have a whole ‶play city”, while older ones can enjoy virtual reality-related features and a multi-ball court with projectors that few adventure centers possess. The indoor climbing walls and the multi-level obstacle maze encourage activity even in bad weather. Furthermore, the party room with professional sound and lighting equipment, board games and a game cellar provide more entertainment and livens up the atmosphere.

Of course, the outdoor spaces were also designed for entertainment: a fully equipped stage, barbecue spots, outdoor games, bubble football, archery and foam shooting guns are available. Yet, one of the most exciting elements might be the ninja warrior course, designed with the help of local Exatlon (skill and extreme sports) stars. It is over 30 meters long, has four lanes and a 100-meter obstacle course where the adventurous can test their determination in a challenge that is one of a kind in Hungary.

The leisure center is not only an exciting place for children to play creatively, but it also provides entertainment for adults. For example, the ninja warrior course is a great choice for grown-ups. There are other entertainment options for adults in the basement of the building too, such as foosball, darts and billiards.

During the high season (July and August), the facility’s hours are flexible, since they are adjusted to the weather. On rainy days the regular hours of operation, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. are extended by 7 hours (from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.). No prior booking is required for the Playhouse. The admission fee grants access to all the services available in the Playhouse. This means that during the purchased playtime ticket holders can spend time in any room; of course, the little ones will probably play mainly in the Baby-Mama Room and Minipolis, while older children will spend time in the indoor adventure track and the VR Room. The pass also grants access to the ninja warrior course, which is perhaps the most popular feature of the facility.

The exclusive use of the play areas is also possible, but must be indicated in advance. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours before the rental time. A deposit of 50% of the price is to be paid when making the reservation either by bank transfer or cash on the spot. It is possible to rent the indoor area, the outdoor area, both, or the ninja warrior course. This option will most likely be popular with companies and groups of friends. The playhouse is also a popular venue for children's birthday parties, since the building is perfectly suited for this purpose.
