Town Hall

The former county hall of Gyula was built between 1876 and 1877 in the Neo-Renaissance style, based on the plans of János Linczbauer. The original Baroque building was completed in 1793 and since then it has been extended several times. As a result, it shows the characteristics of several architectural styles: Baroque, Renaissance and Classicism. The Town Hall of Gyula has adorned Petőfi Square since 1877 and remains a dominating building. The beautifully restored Town Hall, with its stunning motifs, has been declarered a listed historical buiding. The local Council of Representatives holds it meetings there.
